Prudence in Management and Economic Wisdom

In June 19-20, 2015 an international workshop on “Virtues and Vices in Economics and Business” was organized by the Institute of Philosophy of the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium.

Laszlo Zsolnai gave a lecture on “Prudence in Management and Economic Wisdom” for the workshop.In his lecture Zsolnai used the concept of wisdom developed by American psysychologst Robert J. Sternberg according to which wisdom is a way to combine intellgience and creativity for the common good. Zsolnai argued that wisdom require holistic valze creation in which different components of the common good are balanced intrapesonally, interpersonally and extrapersonally in short and long term alike.
